Configuring LDAP

Supported on: MFC-8860DN, MFC-8870DW, MFC-9840CDW

Not supported on: MFC-8460N

Summary:

  1. In a web browser, go to http://printer, then Network Configuration, LDAP...
  2. Enable LDAP.
  3. Enter the LDAP server name or IP address.
  4. Change the port to 3268. (See Note below.)
  5. Select Simple method in the Authentication section, and specify Username and Password. In the case of connecting to the Active Directory server, enter the DN (Distinguished Name) format. (Ex. "cn=username, cn=Users, dc=local, dc=example, dc=com ")
  6. Enter the Search Root. This is the place to start a search. For example; if the domain name of the Active Directory server is set to "local.example.com", the Search Root could be such as "cn=Users, dc=local, dc=example, dc=com". 

Username (create this user in AD): domainname\brotherprinter

Search root: OU=SBSUsers,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=DOMAINNAME,DC=LOCAL
