Chassis

We are currently using:

5299BRP for servers with redundant PSU

5299DP for non-redundant PSU

 

Download the Updates

Go to support.intel.com and then Downloads. Enter the board number (eg. S3000AH) and select your operating system.

Update BIOS from Intel Deployment Assistant

Download the BIOS update package for Intel Deployment Assistant, and don't unzip the file.

  1. Boot into the Intel Deployment Assistant CD
  2. Click "Get System Updates"
  3. Load the ZIP file from a USB key

Update BIOS from DOS

Download the BIOS update package for DOS, and upzip the file to a bootable USB disk.

Read the release notes text file for instructions.

Boot from USB

  1. Create a bootable USB disk
  2. Boot up with the USB disk attached
  3. Press F2 to enter BIOS setup
  4. In Boot Options >> Hard Disk Order, select "Hard Disk #1" and press Enter, then change it to the USB disk
  5. Reboot

Install Windows Server 2003

  1. Download the Intel Matrix driver
  2. Copy the files from "Win2003-32" folder to a floppy disk - they should contain iastor.inf etc.
  3. Boot with Windows Server 2003 CD, and press F6 to load additional drivers

Also make sure the fan connector is 4 pin. Fans with only 3 pins will always run at full speed.
